Garbage, Recycling & Yard Waste
Garbage Service
Tuesdays. Garbage must be out by 6am. Late set outs will not be collected until your next scheduled collection day. Carts may be out the night before and removed from the street after pickup. Any changes in garbage pickup due to holidays will be posted in News and Views.
RATES: 65 gallon cart- $16, Large 95 gallon cart- $18.
Recycling
Wednesdays. Voluntary. One bin is provided and extra bins may be used. No fee. Please follow guidelines. Glass, styrofoam and plastic grocery bags can no longer be recycled, as the recycling centers will not accept these items.
Bulk Items Stickers
Bulk items are those too large to fit in a cart. All bulk items require a $5.00 sticker that can be purchased at City Hall. These items will be picked up on Tuesdays with regular garbage pick up. Also available is a $5.00 move out/household clean up tag. This allows you to put out up to six (6) extra garbage bags, maximum 30 gallon size.
Appliances
Stickers may be purchased at City Hall for the disposal of microwaves, washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and air conditioners. Fee: $13.00 per item. These items will be picked up on Tuesday with regular garbage pick up.
Yard Waste & Brush Disposal
Service is provided from April 1st through November 30th for grass, leaves, and garden debris only. Yard waste must be placed in a paper yard waste bag. Yard waste bags require a $1.00 sticker that can be purchased at City Hall.
Burning Ordinance
Yard waste burning is allowed March 15 to May 30 and September 1 to December 1 during the hours of 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. No burning of garbage is allowed.
The sewer plant (located on the south end of 8th Ave.) is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:30 a.m to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., so that the public may access the burn pile. The burn pile is for brush only.
